Do you play LACROSSE?
UNC Chapel Hill, NC State, and Duke are one of my favorite schools/places to visit. To me, the news did not change any. I remember the author wrote Harvard & MIT. The son of my company President in Boston wants to go either University of North Carolina or University of Florida this fall. Although he did not go Duke or Harvard, Duke is still one of the best schools. The reason they (father and son) prefer UNC or UFL is they knew companies like to hire top public university students. Harvard and Duke won't hurt by news or competition from top public universities. Top private universities admit old money family students who frequently no need to send resume for a $$,$$$ job. They are naturally going to their parent or grandparent's company as high position with $$$,$$$ salary and eventually become owner of that big company. You can not beat Harvard or Duke.
今天我有問美國小朋友, lacrosse是不是真的只有白人玩. 他們說是. 我聯想起以前英國人在印度玩的蜥蟀球 (cricket-- 應該叫 板球吧???) 好像也是英國白人在玩的 而不是給印度人玩的 那球, 看起來如此 neutral, 原來也是很有種族的印痕. 對了 有印度電影就呈現出 印度人比英國白人更會打 cricket 因此出了一口氣
Have you ever seen any Oriental playing Lacrosse? C'mon, It's a White dominated sports. If you ever watch local games, even the peewee Lacrosse are belong to the Whites, espeially in the Northeast states. It is not about the Duke University, it's all about the grass-rooted GAPS clashes among white-black, moral/inmoral, and richest/poorest mentality. Upper class and SES elite White needs to "wake up" and raise their offspring in the real life to prevent them drifting away from the society. Not-so-well-to-do Africa American needs to persue a differnt pathways toward their education as well as leaving their victimized-black-mentality behind. Looking beyond the Lacrosse incident at Duke, can we apply this incident to any immigration dilema????
