* Taiwan Living: 客座世新032008

Gary was invited to be a Visiting Professor at Shih-Hsin University in March 2008. It has been wonderful to be in Taipei for over a month and to witness the 2008 Presidential Election. The time in Taiwan was extremely busy and fruitful. Thanks to all the friends, old and new, who made us welcome. We really look forward to another long stay in Taiwan in future. During our time in Taipei, we visited Kaohsiung, Hong Kong and Ningbo. I finished a paper on South Korean TV drama, Dae Jang Geum, for an edited volume by a colleague in Sheffield, as well as a couple of short pieces on various topics for different publications. Dr Kirsten Huang of Shih-Hsin and I have also been developing two research projects - one on TV production and the other on digitalisation of television. Hopefully we may see some results in the near future.
