We all know that Windows are not very reliable and also are easy to get virus infected. What is GNOME Xwindows? 4A. GNOME offers an easy to understand desktop for GNU/Linux or UNIX computer. GNOME is part of the GNU Project and can be used with various Unix-like operating systems, most notably those built on top of the Linux kernel and the GNU userland, and as part of Java Desktop System in Solaris. 5Q. What is KDE Xwindows? 5A. KDE is a free software project based around its flagship product, a desktop environment mainly for Unix-like systems. The goal of the project is to provide basic desktop functions and applications for daily needs as well as tools and documentation for developers to write stand-alone applications for the system. KDE software is based on the Qt toolkit. The original GPL version of this toolkit only existed for the X11 platform, but with the release of Qt 4, GPL versions are available for all platforms. This allows KDE software based on Qt 4 to also be distributed to Microsoft Windows and Mac OS X. 6Q. What is the casper-rw loop? 6A. The casper-rw loop file will becomes the partition for saving changes for USB PMOS operations. On Ubuntu, Xubuntu, Kubuntu, Crunchbang or Linux Mint, A larger casper-rw loop file is particularly useful for those who have performed a Linux install to a larger thumb drive using a Windows OS and need more persistent storage space for saving changes. 7Q. How big is the casper-rw loop file needed? 7A. The default size of casper-rw loop file is set at 1GB. However we released PMOS in 2GB casper partition for 4GB USB flash drives and 4GB casper partition for 8GB USB flash drives. 8Q. How much free space people can use after they make PMOS on USB drives? 8A. For 2GB casper to GNOME Ubuntu and EeeUbuntu on 4GB USB drives, the free space is about 1.8GB for saving operational status. On 8GB USB drives with 4GB casper, the GNOME Ubuntu and EeeUbuntu have 3.6GB left for free space. The Mint7KDE OS by itself is at least 500MB bigger than GNOME Ubuntu OS. However the casper size is about the same as Ubuntu. 9Q. Can PMOS be updated in the future? 9A. Yes. PMOS is not like Windows which needs to be updated frequently for stability and security. People need PMOS to be a portable, reliable and safe tool. It is not smart to update USB PMOS and applications frequently due to the limited free space on casper partition. Therefore the best way to use PMOS tool is to stay on current available releases. Right now the most stable configuration is 9.04 on Ubuntu and Mint7KDE distributions. In the future if there is a more advanced stable configuration available, we will release and make it into USB PMOS tool. 10Q. Do people download the PMOS for making one copy of USB PMOS only? 10A. NO. After you download the PMOS zipped file and obtain the “passcode” to unzip it, from that directory you now can make as many USB PMOS as you want. You don't need to know the details of Linux in order to make the USB PMOS. It is so simple in less than 10 clicks following the screen instructions, you can make bootable USB PMOS in Windows.

(shutdown) 12. 插入做好的 Ubuntu 9.10 USB 隨身碟. 13. 開機讓電腦從 USB 啟動, 順著指令, 執行 有 persistent 的能力 (有記憶功能). 14. 你將可以在 USB 上用 Linux xWindows系統來做你喜歡做的事. 15. 你也可以用此 Ubuntu 9.10 USB 隨身碟 來灌 Ubuntu Linux 到硬碟上 (不再需要 CD/DVD drive了). 如此你就可以有 dual-boot 的双作業系統的電腦. (當用 USB 啟動後, 選 install ). 因為需要切出硬碟的空間給 Linux 系統, 沒經驗的話第一次最好找有經驗者幫忙. 現在 你可以用 ubuntu_9_10 folder (檔案夾) 來製作無限制次數的 Ubuntu9.10 USB 作業系統到 USB上或硬碟上. 從此你不用再怕 Linux 作業系統. 高中生, 大學生及研究所的朋友們, 就這麼地簡單你就可以學也可以擁有 Linux 了. 國中生想學 Linux 來跟上世界潮流, 現在你有了. www.won48.com
www.won48.com 双系統的個人電腦有那些優點? 現在的個人電腦都有很大的儲存空間足以裝存兩套以上的作業系統。那到底兩套以上的作業系統對終端使用者有什麼好處呢？兩套不同的作業系統被分別裝置在不同的硬碟切割(separate drives or partitions)上，你可以從啟動選項(menu of OSes) 裡選擇起動哪一套作業系統來做工作運算處理。現在我們通常是以微軟的視窗作業系統(Windows)為主，另一套作業系統則是 Linux 的。二十一世紀的今天双作業系統啟動的個人電腦應該是人人都要沾光的，這也是不久的將來雲端運算(Cloud Computing)時代到來後的必備電腦情況。 我們都知道微軟的視窗作業系統因為樹大招風容易招來病毒 (Virus) 的侵襲，同時也因為 Windows 在關機時常常忘掉一些在使用時打開沒關的冷掉應用軟體，而在關機時忘了把記憶區解放出來。因此下次再開機使用電腦時有可能某些記憶體區就被事先註明不能使用，所以說你可常聽人說或自己感覺到為什麼Windows XP 怎麼年久月積，它就越跑越慢甚至停住而當機等等的說法。因此有了双啟動作業系統除開各種應用軟體互通及免費的好處外，就算Windows 搞怪中毒當機時，你也不怕會有措手不及救不回你的可貴資料檔案的遺憾。 今天要自己裝 Windows 及 Linux 的双啟動作業系統在個人電腦並不像以前那樣的困難和花時間。而且做為現代的電腦終端使用者的我們應該就必須要求廠商在電腦出廠時就應該裝置好Windows 及 Linux 的双啟動作業系統給我們。現在的個人電腦幾乎都有 300GB 以上的儲存硬碟，第一硬碟切割約 80GB 給 Windows 的系統與應用軟體裝置。第二硬碟切割約 150GB 給双系統間的資料與檔案儲存用，餘下的 70GB 留給 Linux (Ubuntu 9.10) 的裝備版或豪華版的系統。當然有大於 300GB 的硬碟時，多出的空間都可撥給資料與檔案儲存用，双系統與應用軟體裝置空間是不需改變的。 雲端運算時代的到來 雲端運算對現代的電腦終端使用者較為切身的是 Smart-phones、Net-books、Notebooks、MIDs (Mobile Internet Devices)、電子書及 AIO PCs (All-in-One PCs)的設計與發展。雖然電腦各式各類大小不同，但因應雲端運算的硬體與軟體的要求是大同小異的。以現在 2009年11月來說，各家廠商出的各式產品均以 Intel 的x86 (32-bit 或 64-bit) 處理器為主。記憶體 (DRAM) 也普遍有 4GB。儲存硬碟也都在 320GB 以上。當然啟動的作業系統就只是微軟的 Windows。今天在產品售價不變下， Won48.com 提出呼籲讓各廠商們應該加裝第二套 Linux 的裝備版甚或豪華版。讓使用者可以感到使用 Linux 就像使用 Windows 一樣的自然與方便。另外再附一支 2GB 的可攜帶USB作業系統與應用軟體，如此使用者才能漸入佳境地與雲端運算時代的到來同步了。 讓我們開始要求廠商我們需要双啟動的作業系統的電腦以及一支 2GB 以上的可攜帶USB作業系統與應用軟體。我們的要求不過份，電腦的售價也不應該提高。Won48.com 要尋找廠商的合作或自出電腦。我想具有双啟動的作業系統的電腦以及一支 2GB 以上的可攜帶USB作業系統與應用軟體的電腦組合在同樣售價下應該會比現在的單一微軟作業系統的電腦來得有吸引力多了。 www.won48.com
www.won48.com 當人們使用Ubuntu 9.10 的CD image來安裝Linux 作業系統時，灌到硬碟上的作業系統和應用軟體是相當陽春的。也就是說除了系統與應用程式基本功能外，所有在Windows 上習以為常的libraries、flash、java、codecs、languages和fonts等等事實上都沒有完全裝好。所以當你要用Linux 作業系統做 Office 的文書處理或要上網，你就會發現怎麼和 Windows 上不一樣。在 Windows 上java、flash、pdf、languages、audio和video等等明明都好好的很自然的，到了Linux 作業系統上竟然不會動或需要安裝。如此對一般使用者來說這工程就浩大了，當然就很多人不喜歡使用Linux 作業系統即使它是穩定又好又免費的。 裝備版的Linux 作業系統就是至少要把在Windows 上習以為常的flash、libraries、java、codecs、languages和fonts等等都幫使用者安裝好，另外還要安裝必要的應用軟體如Office、Adobe reader、Graphics、Audio/Video multimedia、Network communications、Antivirus、System updates 等等。至於豪華版的Linux 作業系統除了上述所有的功能安裝，也還有更多的應用安裝，重點就是要讓使用者在運用上不違Windows上的習慣更甚而比Windows上做更多好又方便的作業處理又不用花錢購買。 要双啟動的作業系統的電腦就是要有最起碼的裝備版的Linux或豪華版的Linux 作業系統。目前市面上廠商都沒有提供，頂多只有隨意的陽春版。 www.won48.com

我不知道我今天遇上什么新浪鬼了，从下午4点-9点，我的一条评论写了八次，被删除了八次。关键是我的那行评论什么天条也没犯，仅仅因为一个中国台湾省台南市的朋友在我的博客上写了个评论，我回了她一条评论，里面说：你也开博客了，好好写写你热爱的台南让我们看看。就这么一句话，居然被删除。开始以为是技术原因偶然删了，就天真地再写，然后是再删除。我就觉得有问题了，新浪管理评论的后台编辑里有很不道德的小人，而且就在4-9点这个班上，他丫就盯上我了,只要我写,几分钟后就被删除.这种人简直不是中国人,连台南两个字都不许出现,那他就是中国猪,中国的王八蛋。我开始时客气地抱怨两句，现在逼得我破口大骂了，新浪里怎么还有这样的混蛋在当编辑。好吧，明天我就给新浪打电话，查出4-9点这个删除我评论的狗日的，开除他。让他的手指头长癌。太不是人了！如果我写了什么违反党纪国法的话，你可以让警察来抓捕我呀，可我就写了台南两个字，想让朋友发点她家乡的文字和照片，也是为了让大家了解我们的宝岛，是爱国行为啊，你丫怎么不知好歹呀？ 逼得我先写成台-南，又写成台/南,又写成台------南,又写成拼音tai-nan ，都不行，他就盯着我删除，这不是王八蛋是什么，你丫什么揍的呀，是猩猩吧？ 你删除吧，我明天就打电话到新浪，查你个王八蛋，看你还犯贱，找抽。人民给你个在博客后台管理的工作，你就胡闹，去死吧你！ 如果新浪不管这件事，我就在别的网站上发博客，让大家都知道新浪里有什么王八蛋在管理博客。这他妈简直是笑话，什么狗日的都往IT行业里混，毫无道德良知，就会两下子网页和电脑，会编个程序，会点个“del”键，也算大学毕业，实则是垃圾废物，什么下三滥的事都干得出来，我日你八辈祖宗！赶紧加强点人文修养吧，否则与他妈的屠夫没两样，毫无良知，典型的希特勒手下的杀手。
Every week a Moslem man in Singapore forwards an e-mail to his co-religionists in that Asian island nation... An Evangelical Christian couple in Texas makes photocopies of it and gives them to all the members of their church and female prisoners throughout the Lone Star State… A Catholic Pastoral Counselor reads it to patients at a hospital in Peoria, Illinois… The principal of a Jewish high school in Chicago tacks it to a bulletin board… While atheists throughout the world forward it to their friends and loved ones. It all started on a hot summer day in 2001 when a young man carrying a guitar case walked into a crowded Jerusalem restaurant and detonated a bomb, killing himself and 27 other people. One of them was my wife, Shoshana, who was pregnant with our first child. I had been the happiest man in the world married to the most wonderful woman in the world. We had just moved into a new home and our heads were filled with wonderful dreams. Then in an instant I became the loneliest man in the world. I lived in fear that terrorists would track me down and kill me and perhaps kill hundreds of people in the United States as they had my wife and my unborn child. What pulled me through this tragedy were the people who were there for me in my darkest hours—the friends and relatives who supported me with my physical and emotional needs and the strangers who opened their hearts to relieve my burdens. My parents stayed with me for a few weeks to help me get readjusted to life after the tragedy. As soon as they left families in my community invited me to join them for dinner every night of the week so that I would not feel lonely. During the traditional week of mourning, close to a thousand people came to comfort me. Hundreds of them were students, parents and friends whose lives were enriched by my wife in so many different ways. They told me how she had comforted them by telling them that “There is good in every bad.” And so it is—in tragedy, there is opportunity to reach out to others and to turn something “bad” into something good and meaningful. Partners in Kindness On January 1, 2002, four months after Shoshana’s murder, I met with a group of friends in my community to discuss what we could do to make the world a better place. We decided to start a daily email newsletter to offer readers stories of kindness. We called the newsletter A Daily Dose of Kindness and our organization Partners in Kindness. After a few months, we introduced a second email called Kind Words, which was syndicated, free of charge, around the world. In addition to stories, these emails also contained scientific insights on kindness and sensitivity enhancement techniques. The emails spread far and wide. During the first five years, Partners in Kindness had granted permission for our stories and kindness techniques to appear in eight languages in print and electronic media reaching a circulation of more than 1.5 million readers on six continents. Seeing Good; Doing Good; Feeling Good When the news on TV, on the radio, and in the newspapers is filled with violence, we feel helpless and depressed. We lose faith in humanity and feel there is nothing that we can do to make the world better. Some readers tell us that our emails help them to forget about the bad and just focus on the good. Anne from California explains: I had just read several news reports of what is going on in the world and they had had a rather depressing effect on me. Then I read your "kindness" column, and it just lifted me up, once again, to be reading about the good things people are doing for each other in a world that seems to concentrate on the bad. Our first book, A Daily Dose of Kindness, represents the best of these e-mails. The book contains diverse stories about Israel submitted from one hundred contributors. A Daily Dose of Kindness is the result of the collaboration of hundreds of volunteers and financial supporters of many different religions and nationalities. These stories of caring may bring new hope to Israel, the Middle East and the world. The emails empower readers to not only tackle their own problems, but to reach out and make the world better. A few months after we started sending out our kindness emails—less than a year after September 11—a large Moslem charity in Kuwait contacted us and asked permission to forward our stories throughout their country. As Julia Bail of Washington, D.C. comments, “Reading the Kindness letters . . . gives me more hope for mankind than anything else in my life.” Speaking When I have the opportunity to speak, I rivet my audience’s attention through stories and audience participation. Participants come away feeling very positive and excited about doing something great. My excitement for kindness is infectious, as this student from New York City’s Stuyvesant High School explains: I was expecting to attend the lecture given by Shmuel Greenbaum for one period. I ended up staying for four. It is so uplifting, so enlightening, so refreshing to hear someone like him talk, to simply bubble over with excitement at the thought of doing good in the world. He is in his way a role model to us all. The predator will be watching you, and this is the perfect opportunity for him to get in on the passenger side, put a gun to your head, and tell you where to go. AS SOON AS YOU GET INTO YOUR CAR , LOCK THE DOORS AND LEAVE.. If someone is in the car with a gun to your head DO NOT DRIVE OFF, Repeat: DO NOT DRIVE OFF! Instead gun the engine and speed into anything, wrecking the car. Your Air Bag will save you. If the person is in the back seat they will get the worst of it . As soon as the car crashes bail out and run. It is better than having them find your body in a remote location. 5. A few notes about getting into your car in a parking lot, or parking garage: A.) Be aware: look around you, look into your car, at the passenger side floor , and in the back seat B.) If you are parked next to a big van, enter your car from the passenger door. Most serial killers attack their victims by pulling them into their vans while the women are attempting to get into their cars. C.) Look at the car parked on the driver's side of your vehicle, and the passenger side... If a male is sitting alone in the seat nearest your car, you may want to walk back into the mall, or work, and get a guard/policeman to walk you back out. IT IS ALWAYS BETTER TO BE SAFE THAN SORRY. (And better paranoid than dead.) 6. ALWAYS take the elevator instead of the stairs. Stairwells are horrible places to be alone and the perfect crime spot. This is especially true at NIGHT!) 7. If the predator has a gun and you are not under his control, ALWAYS RUN! The predator will only hit you (a running target) 4 in 100 times; and even then, it most likely WILL NOT be a vital organ. RUN, Preferably in a zig -zag pattern! 8. As women, we are always trying to be sympathetic: STOP It may get you raped, or killed. Ted Bundy, the serial killer, was a good-looking, well educated man, who ALWAYS played on the sympathies of unsuspecting women. He walked with a cane, or a limp, and often asked 'for help' into his vehicle or with his vehicle, which is when he abducted his next victim. 9. Another Safety Point: Someone just told me that her friend heard a crying baby on her porch the night before last, and she called the police because it was late and she thought it was weird.. The police told her 'Whatever you do, DO NOT open the door..' The lady then said that it sounded like the baby had crawled near a window, and she was worried that it would crawl to the street and get run over. The policeman said, 'We already have a unit on the way, whatever you do, DO NOT open the door.' He told her that they think a serial killer has a baby's cry recorded and uses it to coax women out of their homes thinking that someone dropped off a baby. He said they have not verified it, but have had several calls by women saying that they hear baby's cries outside their doors when they're home alone at night. 10. Water scam! If you wake up in the middle of the night to hear all your taps outside running or what you think is a burst pipe, DO NOT GO OUT TO INVESTIGATE! These people turn on all your outside taps full ball so that you will go out to investigate and then attack. Stay alert, keep safe, and look out for your neighbours! 以行動來譴責無環保意識者 各位如果你認同請轉寄給大家!! 注意事項： 各位親愛的車友也許有上合歡山旅遊賞雪的經驗。 車友們上山前 除了替愛車檢查車況以外，更重要的是 上山以後，別去跟合歡山上的攤販購買東西。 小弟今年上合歡山當義工兩次，是去武嶺停車場邊坡撿垃圾。 整個武嶺停車場很多垃圾這個大家都知道，其實邊坡的垃圾才更誇張。 我舉例好了，我們垂降到邊坡以後，發現很多垃圾都是大垃圾袋包好的。 例如整袋的衛生筷子、寶麗龍碗盤，或是整捆的飲料紙箱。 還有山上會賣煮玉米...我們也發現了一整袋的玉米心。 千萬別以為把垃圾放進攤販準備的垃圾袋，攤販會帶下山，那是不太可能的事情。 接下來的例子更誇張，我們在邊坡發現了整組攤販的生財器具。 可能甲攤販先下山休息，乙攤販就把甲攤販整車的東西往山下倒。 不虎濫，桌子、椅子、鍋子、油桶，啥都有...千萬別跟攤販合作...好吧！ 不說飲食攤販好了..那麼山上賣水果農產品的攤販呢? 沒錯， 這些攤販也是一樣惡劣。 當水果農產品賣完以後，整箱的泡棉、水果紙箱，也是往山裡面整車倒。 請別跟攤販買東西。 邊坡說完，接著介紹到邊坡山谷。 這時候的垃圾，形容是垃圾山也不過分。 攤販每年倒的垃圾以及台灣遊客製造的垃圾，讓我們清了好幾噸垃圾。 卻還不到山谷垃圾量的1/10 。 沒有錯！山谷垃圾是用噸來計算的。 我們在裡面發現了浴缸、衛浴設施，非常有可能是山腰的民宿業者為了整修，而把不要的廢棄物整車往山下倒。 為何太管處會需要我們義工上山撿垃圾? 是因為一般清潔公司的清潔工都不願意包下邊坡清除工程，太危險以及太累了。 我們都是以繩索垂降到山谷，再以滑輪吊掛垃圾上來的。 人力付出很多，卻因為地理原因，清除速度非常的慢。 拜託各位不要再跟合歡山上的攤販買東西了！ 一起用行動來譴責這種好無環保意識,簡直是在殘殺地球 但白雪之下掩埋的竟是台灣人的自尊....大型垃圾...攤架..把這當成巷口的垃圾場!! 今年大雪過後滿目瘡痍.. 整個邊坡都是垃圾...為什麼會這樣ㄋ?? 整個武嶺都是垃圾...太誇張了!! 你還要跟攤販買東西吃嗎??難道台灣人就只能跟攤販買東西嗎?不能有格調一點,好好的吃ㄧ點東西嗎? 吃完亂丟...然後再讓其他好心的人上山幫你清垃圾?! 台灣的美背後往往在淌血....加上媒體誇張的報導.. 每次聽聞媒體報導合歡山又下雪.... 只有難過她又要遭受浩劫... 不只她一座.....所有的高山命運都相同.. 如果你愛這塊土地...就請你上山和下山時不要留下任何東西... 就靜靜的欣賞這塊土地的美...
Korean Wave Sweeps Uzbekistan Korean TV soaps have found an unlikely market in Uzbekistan, where the old stalwart "Winter Sonata" garnered 60 percent viewer ratings, while "Jewel in the Palace" and "Prince of the Legend" were replayed several times at the overwhelming demand of viewers. Uzbekistan, which became independent from the Soviet Union in 1991, lacks the technology and resources to produce quality TV programs and currently depends mostly on Russia for entertainment. Korean companies who made inroads into the Uzbek market decided to use their advertising budget to buy a license to air Korean dramas in Uzbekistan through local broadcasters, and this sparked a little Korean Wave there. It has also ignited demand for Korean-language classes. The Korean Education Center in Tashkent opened in 1992 with the aim of teaching Korean to the descendents of ethnic Koreans living there. But now 58.5 percent of 1,370 students there are Uzbeks, outnumbering the 41.5 percent ethnic Koreans. In the past, most students wanted to find a work in Korea, but now the number of those who hope to study in Korea has risen sharply. Kim Jeong-seok, the director of the center, says, "Korean language departments have been established in nine major universities in Uzbekistan, and 24 universities now run Korean classes." Korean TV dramas are not the only source of Uzbeks' infatuation with the country. When Daewoo Motor and Kabool Textiles set up branches in the 1990s, they gave Uzbeks a taste of the high quality of Korean products. The Daewoo plant is now owned by Uzbekistan, but Daewoo's Tico, Matiz and Nexia produced there dominate the roads.

A number of researchers and professors have participated already and expressed their concern on democracy in South Korea. More than three thousand professors in South Korea signed petitions, and 240 in North America raised their collective voice. Supporting their petitions, we propose that researchers and university professors in Europe sign a petition. A draft has been prepared as attached.
