Highland Park 高原騎士 15, 18 & 30年品嚐心得

今天參加了寰盛洋酒代理的 Highland Park 單一麥芽威士忌記者會，喝到15年、18年和30年的，風格各異，感覺很棒！

Highland Park 直譯應該是「高地公園」，為何中文名稱取為高原騎士，這點我有點想不通，但也忘了問品牌經理。不過這家酒廠早在我剛開始喝單一麥芽威士忌的時候，就常常聽到發燒友的討論，是個很具代表性的高地經典酒廠。

15年的年輕清爽，有鮮明的泥煤味，口感屬清澈的麥味和些許的海風味，香氣到了後段發展出柔和的香草奶油味，令人愉悅。

18年的相對穩重厚實，有溫暖的大麥味和烘烤泥煤味，是寒冬中會想坐在火爐前品嚐的酒款。

30年的，比我想像中還年輕有活力。有明顯的糖漬櫻桃香氣、百里香、迷迭香等香料味和香草味，複雜度和變化度十足，像個看起來比實際年齡年輕許多，還非常享受人生，喜歡冒險的成熟男人。

Highland Park 的愛好者應該蠻多的吧！可以發表一下你們的品嚐心得跟大家分享～～

Still remembered that bottle of champaign my client gave me
at Cannes, no label, just plain bottle, that's the best
champaign ever tasted; he mentioned it was special
made and for that occassion only. I guess that's the
difference between westerners (include Japanese) and
Chinese.

It's true that most wineries can't afford spending money on advertising. There are too many small wineries that produce only very limited amount of products.

But you may agree that you often get surprised by some unknown wineries and actually they don't need advertising--their wines can hardly meet local demand.

Thanks for your quick response.

If this is the case of spirit, how about wine markets in Taiwan,
are they reflected a fair value too? in general, of course.

Scotch whisky can promote, as a group, but this is not easy
for a whole myriad of wines from different countries, and all
over the places.

When you taste a glass of whisky, you can imagine a large proportion of the money you paid is for its marketing and advertising.
I don't really know what's the reasonable price for whiskies, but it's fine with me to leave it to the free market. In comparison with UK, the price of whisky in Taiwan is still very acceptable.

Cheaper whisky is one of very few good reasons to live in Taiwan I think :D

Apparently, Scotch whisky is a hot item in Taiwan, more
popular than wines, didn't it tell you something, Denise?
I believe if more infos and introductions on all kinds of wine,
spirits will give people greater range of choices.

Personally, I think Scotch were all overpriced and overrated,
except few established name brands, too much hypes and
artificialities. Heard you will come to Ca in July, I think this
trip will blow your mind, after all Californian wines are quite
good, and plebeianistic.

I really shake my head on those overpriced whisky and wines,
offered on the plane' duty free shop,
are they really, really that good?

Lagavulin 16年是一支好酒
可惜，近幾年飆得不像話
以前，一千七百銀兩就能喝一支
現在，沒有兩張小朋友就別想

（有些地方賣到兩千八一瓶，而且常缺貨）

所以，我喝單一麥威士忌的策略是這樣的：

日常時刻喝Glenlivet12年（有些通路七百元就能買一支）
開心點的時刻喝 Highland Park15年（大約可以千元左右入手）
需要尋求某種靈感時，才喝Lagavulin 16年

至於Lagavulin 25年（好像還有30年）
每次在酒商櫥窗裡看到她
都像是看見暗戀多年的女生
連遞紙條給她的勇氣都沒有
